Blanchard Gutters Hung by the Roof Crew

New runs, outlets, and downspouts, hung by the crew that is already on the eave when the roof is the reason they are there.

Ask who hangs the gutters — (000) 000-0000

Why the gutter is part of the roof day

Water that leaves the shingles and then sits in a sagging gutter is still a roof problem. The crew that just nailed the eave is the right crew to hang the gutter, because they can see the pitch of the new edge and set the gutter to it.

A gutter-only call is also their work. You do not need a failing roof to have them out. A pulled spike, a split miter, or a downspout that dumps against the foundation is enough.

What they hang

Runs, outlets, elbows, and downspouts, sized to the eave they are standing on. They set the slope so water moves to the outlet instead of sitting over the door. Downspouts are aimed away from the wall. Splash blocks or an extension are named if the water would otherwise return to the foundation.

They do not leave the old trough hanging by one spike while the new roof goes on, unless you have asked them to leave the gutters alone. That choice is made before they start, not discovered when you look up. Hangers go into solid wood, spaced so a full trough does not sag between them. When the old trough comes down, the crew looks at the fascia behind it. Soft wood is named before a new run is fastened over it. A gutter hung on rotten fascia will pull away, and the same crew would be the one called back, so they would rather say it now. The outlet, the first elbow, and the length of the drop are part of that same look.

With a roof job or by itself

On a replacement, the gutter conversation happens with the tear-off conversation, so the same crew can pull the old trough, do the roof, and hang the new one without a second company in the driveway. On a repair, they will say whether the gutter caused the failure or merely needs its own hour.

The paperwork for a gutter run is the paperwork for that run. Ask what document comes with it. This page does not add a cover.

What to tell them

Say whether the gutter overflows, sags, or leaks at a corner, and whether a roof job is already in mind. The crew will look at the eave and the ground where the downspout lands. Blanchard, Newcastle, Norman, Tuttle, and Washington are the regular drive. Call (000) 000-0000 and the person who answers stays with the crew that hangs the metal. Corners, outlets, and the first elbow are checked before the crew leaves the ladder. Water should leave the trough at the outlet, not over the front lip. If a downspout would empty onto a walkway, they say so and aim it somewhere you can live with. The same crew that hung the run is the crew that makes that adjustment.
